How to get website customers by using offline advertising tactics that others might think your using advanced advertising concepts.

Here are a few simple steps I've used and have been using:

1. Classified and display ads in your local newspaper or publication. Make sure you add your website address to your advertisement
   
2. Flyers- You can distribute them by hand outs, mailing, posting on car wind shields
   
3. Business Cards- You can hand them out to anyone that my be interested or get business card holder and ask shopkeepers to display your cards.
   
4. Word of mouth advertising- Use your website as a conversation piece. Explain enough to spark curiosity and give out your business card.
   
5. Bulletin and Announcement Boards- You can find them at supermarkets, libaries, offices, community centers, and maybe at your local church.
   
6. Bumper Stickers- Put a bumper sticker with your logo and web address on your vehicle. (make sure you have your business cards on hand. )
   

These few steps might not be innovative advertising, but it works.

Yesterday, I did a search on the internet for a good free website development software. What came up was kompoZe; a free html editor that can compete with the better known editors. KompoZe editor is great for beginners and professional web builders. It is package with a three tier toolbar, including a one click publishing button, and a one click for image insertion and table and form creation. It also font tweaks, site manger, php code editor, and much much more.
I'm not fluent with web building, but I do know KompoZe is easy to use.

Submit to Directories:

When submitting to directories make sure you have, no broken links, no broken images, no missing pages, no typos in your site. In the description field dont over stuff with keywords, and check your grammar and punctuation. After you have done this its time to pick a suitable category for your site to go in. If you cant find a category check other category to see if a competitor is listed. Some web directory might ask for a email address that matches your domain. You usually can get one from your web host or you might have to buy one.
There are may directories on the web from free to paid. A good web resource I would recomend is," DirectoryCritic.com." You might also want to submit to "DMOZ.org" and "MasterMOZ.com" web directories.

Exchange Links:

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.
A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.
As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums:

This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site.
Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.
